It is very important for us to support the work of all the volunteers at the Ronald McDonald House of New York. We offer a comprehensive Volunteer Orientations which is about three times a year as needed for all new volunteers.

We also offer ongoing Special trainings and in-services for all volunteers. Two times a year we offer this 4 part series training;

1. The Psychosocial Impact of Cancer on the Family and the Child,
2. Medical Overview of Pediatric Cancers and Treatments, and Their Impact on the Child,
3. The Role of the Listener - Empathic availability and boundary-setting,
4. Care for the Caregiver - Stress Reduction Techniques
